Last updated: August 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Trove1.io ("Trove," "we," "our," or "us") may collect, use, and disclose information about you. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected when you access or use our products or services (the "Services") via our website located at www.trove1.io and our mobile application (collectively, the "Platform").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully so that you understand our policies and practices regarding your information. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to interact with the Platform or the Services. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy often so that you stay informed about our practices and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you when:
- You Directly Provide It to Us. You provide us with information directly when, for instance, you communicate with us by email, register an Account, place an order or open a Box, sell an item back to us, request shipment, or engage in other transactions.
- Automatically. We automatically collect information about you when you interact with the Platform.
- From Third Parties. We may also collect information about you from third parties — for example, from our identity‑verification, compliance, and risk service providers, and from our payment processor.
The categories of information that we may collect include:
- Personal Information. Information such as your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and date of birth.
- Financial Information. Information related to your payment method and account, such as your bank account number, card number, and similar information (processed by our payment processor, Stripe).
- Sensitive / Identity‑Verification Information. In connection with certain Services (such as sell‑backs, withdrawals, and shipment), we may collect government‑issued identification documents, driver's license or passport numbers, a "liveness" selfie or video, and, where applicable, your Social Security number or other tax identifier, for identity verification, fraud prevention, and legal‑compliance purposes.
- Communication Information. Information included in communications you send to us, and in connection with support, events, publications, or other services we offer.
- Transaction Data. Data from or in connection with transactions you enter into on the Platform, including Boxes opened, items won, sell‑backs, shipments, and balances.
- Device and Usage Data. Information such as the devices you use to access the Platform, along with software and hardware details, browser type and version, IP address, and operating system. We may also use cookies or similar technologies (collectively, "Cookies") to collect information. You may limit the use of certain Cookies at any time (see "Your Choices" below).
- Other Information. Any other information that you choose to provide or that we request.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect in connection with what we consider our everyday business activities, which may include using it to:
- Operate and Provide the Services: including providing updates on your orders, opening and revealing Boxes, generating and settling Buyback Offers, shipping items, managing balances and withdrawals, and facilitating transactions and payments.
- Verify Identity and Comply with Law: including performing identity ("KYC"), age, and location verification, and meeting anti‑money‑laundering, sanctions, tax, and other legal obligations.
- Conduct Research and Improve the Services: including service testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing and improving the effectiveness and design of the Services.
- Communicate with You: including about offers, promotions, or events, and providing other news and information we think will interest you, as well as adding you to mailing lists and sending marketing materials (subject to your choices below).
- Foster Safety and Security: including detecting and preventing malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, exercising our legal rights, and providing for the safety and security of our users, the Platform, and the Services.
- Other Expected Purposes: including any purpose reasonably related to and compatible with a purpose described at the time of collection, or that is reasonably expected based on the context or any agreement with you.
3. Sharing Information
In connection with our everyday business activities, we may share information collected from or about you with third parties in the following circumstances:
- With Service Providers. With service providers who perform functions or provide services on our behalf — including business, professional, operational, compliance, and technical providers, such as our payment processor (Stripe), identity‑verification providers, shipping carriers, and hosting and analytics providers.
- To Comply with Laws and Protect Rights. As we believe necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable law and legal process, and to protect our rights or the privacy, safety, or property of us, our affiliates, or our users.
- In Connection with a Corporate Transaction. In connection with a sale, acquisition, merger, change of control, bankruptcy, joint venture, or similar transaction involving some or all of our assets. Where required by law, we will take commercially reasonable efforts to notify you (by email or by posting an updated Privacy Policy) if such a transaction results in the transfer of control of your personal information to a non‑affiliate.
- Professional Consultants. With professional service providers such as accountants, lawyers, and financial advisors.
- With Your Consent or at Your Direction. With third parties when you consent or direct us to do so.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Some or all of the information described in this Privacy Policy may be collected or shared through Cookies. Our use of Cookies depends on the function the Cookie serves and generally falls into the following categories:
- Essential. Required to provide the core functionality of the Platform and keep it and the Services safe.
- Functional. Allow us to provide enhanced functions such as remembering your settings and preferences.
- Analytics. Enable us to analyze the performance and design of the Platform and the Services and detect errors.
We may also display content from third‑party websites or services, which may result in cookies from those third parties being stored on your device. We do not control those cookies and you should refer to the relevant third parties' privacy policies for more information.
5. Your Choices
You have certain choices about how to limit the collection, use, and sharing of information about you, including:
- Opt Out of Cookies and Tracking Technologies. You can often adjust your browser settings to remove or reject browser cookies. If you do, the availability and functionality of the Services may be affected.
- Using Privacy Plug‑Ins or Browsers. You can block sites from setting cookies used for interest‑based advertising by using a privacy‑focused browser or installing browser plug‑ins configured to block third‑party cookies or trackers.
- Opt Out of Marketing Communications. You may opt out of receiving marketing communications from us by following the instructions in those communications. If you opt out, we may still send you non‑promotional messages, such as those about your Account or our ongoing business relationship.
Where required by applicable law and depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights — for example, to confirm whether we hold certain personal information about you; to verify its content, origin, and accuracy; and to access, review, port, delete, block, or withdraw consent to the processing of certain personal information (without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal). If you are unable to exercise your rights using the mechanisms above, you may email us at admin@trove1.io. To protect your privacy and security, we may take steps to verify your identity before complying with a request, and we may decline a request if we are unable to verify your identity.
6. International Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, and processed in, a country other than the country in which you are located. We comply with applicable laws on the transfer of personal information between countries to help ensure your information is protected wherever it may be.
7. How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable procedural, physical, and electronic safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access or use, including encryption at rest and in transit. Our measures are designed to protect against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, misuse, alteration, and unauthorized disclosure of or access to information under our control. The safety and security of your information also depends on you — keep your Account credentials confidential and do not share them with anyone.
8. Information Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, fulfill our legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and resolve disputes. Retention periods are determined on a case‑by‑case basis depending on the nature of the information, why it was collected, and the applicable legal basis for retention. We may also retain information when necessary to protect the safety and security of the Services.
9. Age Restrictions
The Platform and Services are not directed to persons under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit information from persons under 18. If you are under 18, please do not provide any personal information through the Platform or Services. If we suspect a user is under 18, we will take steps to delete that person's information as soon as possible and require the individual to close their Account.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We are always improving the Platform and Services and add new features regularly. These updates sometimes require us to collect new information or use existing information differently. We will notify you of changes by revising the date at the top of this page. After we post changes, your continued use of the Services is subject to the updated Privacy Policy.
11. Third‑Party Links and Features
The Services may contain links, banners, or widgets to third‑party sites, applications, or services, and may incorporate third‑party software (including open‑source software). These links and features are provided for your reference and convenience only and do not imply any endorsement or association. We are not responsible for the practices of such third parties. Any information you provide to third parties on their sites or services is governed by their privacy and data‑collection practices and is not covered by this Privacy Policy.
